DAVID
BOREANAZ
"Angel"
David
Boreanaz's catapult to stardom came one fateful
day during a walk in the park. Spotted with his
dog Bertha Blue, by a talent manager, David was
immediately signed to an agency. After three
auditions, he landed the role of
"Angel," a dark sensitive and tortured
vampire with a soul.
Born in Buffalo and raised in Philadelphia, David
was exposed to the television business at an
early age his father is a weather
forecaster for WPVI, the ABC affiliate in
Philadelphia. Young David even appeared from time
to time on his dad's show "Rocketship
7" which the senior Boreanaz hosted
from 1962 to 1978. But it wasn't until DB saw a
performance of "The King and I"
starring Yul Brenner, that he realized that
acting was in his blood (so to speak).
Graduating from Ithaca College with a degree in
film, David moved to Los Angeles to embark on his
acting career. In the early years, David lived
the life of a typical struggling Hollywood actor,
working odd jobs and scoring small roles. He
parked cars, painted houses and even sold gourmet
food door-to-door.
His first big break came when he was cast in
"Married
With Children" as Kelly
Bundy's (Christina Applegate) leather-clad biker
beau. The fateful walk in the park followed along
shortly and Boreanaz never looked back.
On stage, David has performed at the Ensemble
Theatre in "Hatful of Rain" at the
Gardner Stage in "Italian American
Reconciliation" and "Fool For
Love," and on Theatre Row in "Cowboy
Mouth." An avid admirer of New York, he
hopes to act on Broadway in the future.
But for the present, he'll have to settle for
starring in the upcoming feature thriller flick
"Valentine," which he filmed in
Vancouver over the summer. Surprise! The film
that David refers to as "a
non-thrasher" horror film opens on
Valentine's Day 2001. When not lurking on the set
of "Angel" David plays golf every time
he gets the chance. Like his vampire persona, he
is a creature of the night. David was divorced
from his wife Ingrid last year, and is currently
single. He still resides in Los Angeles with his
trusty dog Bertha Blue.

CHARISMA CARPENTER
"Cordelia Chase"
Like
many aspiring actors, Charisma's career began
with commercials. That didn't last long though.
Her first television role was a guest appearance
in "Baywatch." She was soon cast in the
role of Ashley in the Aaron Spelling series
"Malibu Shores." Then came the
"Buffy The Vampire Slayer" audition
that sent her career soaring.
Though she originally auditioned for the role of
Buffy Summers, producers loved her sharp-tongued
wit and asked her to read for the role of
Cordelia Chase. It was a match. She landed the
part and played the slayer's nemesis for three
successful seasons. Last year, she took her
Cordelia persona to the highly successful
spin-off "Angel."
Charisma was born in Las Vegas on July 23, 1970.
Her folks couldn't agree on what to name their
daughter. Their inspiration ended up coming from
a bottle of Avon perfume. They didn't like the
smell but they loved the name. Charisma has had
her share of chiding because of the name,
actually going by Chrissy until the age of 9.
The
family lived in Vegas until Charisma was 13 when
they moved to San Diego, where she began to take
classes at the School of the Creative and
Performing Arts in Chula Vista. After graduating
from high school, she spent some time touring
Europe. She returned to San Diego, and worked
various jobs to support herself through junior
college. Those jobs included a waitress, a
property manager, a video store clerk, an
aerobics instructor, and a San Diego Chargers
cheerleader.
Charisma
enjoys ballet, horseback riding, Rollerblading,
hiking, rock-climbing, and has even been known to
skydive from time to time. In a recent article in
Stuff Magazine, Charisma describes herself as
"
the kind of girl who loves drinking
beer and rocking out to The Doors." Charisma
currently lives in her two-bedroom apartment in
Los Angeles. She's settled into a very steady
relationship with fellow actor Damian Hardy whom
she met at acting class

Alexis
Denisof
"Wesley Wyndham-Pryce"
Alexis
spent the majority of his childhood with his
mother in Seattle and then attended boarding
school in New Hampshire. After high school
graduation, Denisof was off to Europe where he
ended up in London training at the London Academy
of Music and Dramatic Arts.
Much like fellow "Angel" actor, Glenn
Quinn, Alexis began his career with a part in a
music video. He took a part in George Harrison's
video "Got My Mind Set On You" in hopes
of meeting the legendary musician but never did
end up seeing him. Alexis spent 15 years in the
U.K. before returning to the United States to
further pursue his acting career. Despite his
talent, he was best known through the tabloids in
the U.K. for having dated actress Caroline
Aherne.
Upon his arrival in the U.S.
Alexis worked on a pilot that didn't get picked
up before landing roles on BTVS and Angel. His
other TV projects include the TV miniseries
"Noah's Ark" and an appearance on
"Highlander." Alexis' character Wesley
was originally written to be killed off within
two episodes but as he often does, creator Joss
Whedon changed his mind.
Alexis latest project is "Beyond City
Limits" with fellow BTVS co-star Alyson
Hannigan.

GLENN
QUINN
"Alan Francis Doyle"
After
guest starring in TV shows such as "Bagdad
Café" and "Beverly Hills 90210,"
Glenn, a native of Dublin, Ireland, landed a
major role in the 1991 John Travolta flick
"Shout." Glenn shared an on-screen kiss
with another rising star, Gwyneth Paltrow. Glenn
was also co-starring in one of the most popular
sitcoms on TV, "Roseanne," playing
Becky's hapless husband. In 1992, Glenn took the
part of Cedric Grey in the historic fantasy TV
series "Covington Cross" which filmed
in England.
It wasn't until he took the role of Doyle in
"Angel" that Glenn's hunk status really
hit. Perhaps it was because it was the first time
that the Irish-born actor was able to use his
native brogue in a role, that garnered the fans
or perhaps it was just the loveable role of Doyle
itself. Despite the two-and-one-half-hours in the
makeup chair each evening, Glenn continued to
have fun with the role until his character was
written off in the ninth episode of season one.
Glenn's latest project is a VH1 original movie
called "At Any Cost." He's plays Ben, a
manager of a small band that is made up of
childhood friends.
He plays the drums and the guitar and is part
owner of "Goldfingers," a Los Angeles
nightclub which has a 007 motif.

J.August
Richards
"Charles Gunn"
J.
August Richards was introduced on Angel
last season playing a street-savvy vampire slayer
and joins the cast this fall as a series regular.
The
first American-born child in his Panamanian
family, Richards was raised in Maryland in a
bilingual household. Discovering his love for
acting early, he enrolled in a performing arts
high school and begun appearing in several plays
a year. Academically confident and determined to
move out to Los Angeles to pursue his acting
aspirations, Richards applied to only one
college. Not only was he accepted into the
University of Southern California, but won
numerous scholarships and grants to study
theater.
Upon
graduation, Richards began working steadily in
film, television and theater. Playing a rapping
bike messenger who believes himself to be an
alien abductee, it was the role of Taj Mahal in
the Mark Taper Forum's production of Space
that would bring true recognition and rave
reviews to the young actor.
On
the big screen, Richards has appeared in the
feature films Why Do Fools Fall in Love?
and Good Burger. His previous television
work includes guest-starring roles on The
Practice, Chicago Hope and Any Day Now,
and roles in the television movies The
Temptations and Mutiny.
In
his free time, Richards enjoys painting and has
developed an interest in astronomy since working
on Space. He has traveled throughout the
United States while on tour and enjoys visiting
his parents' native country of Panama as well as
other regions of Central America.
